About Our Trainers

Jacquelyn Thorp, SPHR-CA,
is the founder and CEO of HR Coach LLC.  After 25 years as a Human Resource Management employee she originated a unique line of affordable, high quality, human resource products and services and now manages HR Coach.  Jacquelyn’s articles on strategic management, harassment prevention and human resource management have appeared in OC Metro, PIHRAScope and FastCompany among other publications.  She is the author of 7 Keys to HR Management and co-authored the California Professionals in Human Resources Study Guide.  In January 2008 Jacquelyn was awarded the prestigious Human Resources Excellence Award by the Professionals in Human Resources Association.  A graduate of Chapman University, Jacquelyn holds a Master of Science in Human Resources and a Bachelor of Arts in Organization Leadership. Ms. Thorp is also a Professor in the Business and Management School at California State University, Fullerton.

Gustavo “Gus” Angelo is a senior human resource consultant and mediator with more than twenty years experience in employee and supervisory training, conflict resolution, employee relations, professional and hourly recruitment, compensation planning, strategic HR management, HRIS systems, team building skills, HR metrics, employee benefits and safety and workers’ compensation issues.  He has staffed and supervised human resource departments in the private sector and was responsible for all human resource functions for over 800 employees in multi site locations where he applied his knowledge of federal and California labor laws, including wage and hour compliance issues, California labor code, federal equal opportunity employment/AAP compliance and employee investigation & documentation issues.  He has successfully managed both union and non-union employee environments.  His industry experience includes manufacturing, aerospace and defense (security clearance).  Gus Angelo is a trained private mediator and applies alternative dispute resolution skills to resolve employment related cases for the Los Angeles Superior Court and the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  In addition to providing sexual harassment compliance training to California employers, Gus presents a Supervisory Toolkit workshop for both new and seasoned supervisors. Gus holds a Masters degree from California State University, Los Angeles.

Ben Thorp is a senior human resource trainer and consultant with more than ten years experience in employee and supervisory training.   Ben is a certified trainer in Identifying, Preventing and Eliminating Sexual Harassment in the Workplace. He has trained hundreds of supervisors and employees in harassment prevention.  As a Human Resource practitioner at Vans and Human Resource Manager at Robert H. Peterson Company, Ben coupled a legal education with practical experience in preventing harassment in the workplace and in training employees and management in harassment, discrimination and retaliation prevention.  Through continuous learning, Ben stays on top of harassment and discrimination issues in the workplace.   As a trainer, Ben is experienced in both U.S. and global training in the area of conflict management.  A graduate of Hope University, Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.  Ben is also the founder and CEO of Acts International, an international distributor of fireplaces and barbeques.

 Ruben Kleinbaum, is a bi-lingual instructor, proctor and consultant in food safety for Train me Today. Certified under ServSafe and Prometric, he has instructed hundreds of individuals as certified Food Safety Managers, as well as training many of their staff on the most current information on food safety measures. Food became one of his favorite interests while traveling and living in other countries. He has a diverse and wide experience in business and sales, and helped establish and run a successful import operation involving the training and management of hundreds of people, before immigrating to the USA over a decade ago. Ruben holds a degree from the Adelle Ann Yglesias Physical and Rehabilitation Medical School at the American British Cowdray Hospital in Mexico City."

Yvonne Riley, is our newest Food Safety Trainer and Proctor.  Yvonne grew up in the beautiful seaside town of Scarborough in North Yorkshire, England. She has been in the food service industry beginning at age 12, working at an ice cream stand by the beach. In her late teens she traveled around Europe working in hotels ad restaurants. Yvonne stayed in her favorite country Greece for two years before coming to the United States. She managed a successful restaurant in Fullerton, CA for over 12 years, and is currently a manager for the most famous coffee company in the world.
