NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Just five years old, we hit the market running in 2003 and have not stopped. Our small team of nine trainers moved from a little known company to a leader in the Southern California training industry providing mandatory food safety training and harassment prevention training. Now, we are ready to blast off! Our mission? To provide training that provides results The mission of the position? To build new business for Train Me Today! The job title? New Business Development Representative The job? Set up speaker presentations, set up training classes for our current trainers, lead generation, qualification, follow up on leads, proposal preparation and sales representation.
Essential Duties? (The legal stuff and what is expected of this person) Implement and manage a sales strategy to achieve aggressive sales goals. - Develop and execute strategies for lead generation, sales, pricing, and all other matters related to revenue generation.
- Personally pursue and close key sales opportunities and manage the sales process.
- Lead internal teams from multiple disciplines to pursue key prospects.
- Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas.
- Ensure sales offerings are closely coordinated and in alignment with internal product offerings.
How will you do this? Success of the above will be strongly dependent upon the New Business Development Representative's ability to: - Understand the Train Me Today Business
- Build a professional and trusting relationship with clients
- Understand the client's requirements
- Set and manage client's expectations
- Create clear, precise and properly detailed client job instructions /documentation
- Create clear, precise and properly detailed trainer job instructions/documentation
- Communicate the specifics to a client as quickly as possible
- Follow up with a client as quickly as possible
- Proactively solicit feedback from client on their current and future needs
- Set up a minimum of 20 classes per month in addition to our current 20 classes per month
Required Skills - Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least five total years work
- Minimum of three years in a sales and/or marketing function with direct response marketing.
- Knowledge of associations, agencies and related service industry professions are highly preferred.
- Strong comfort level on the phone, excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, to include networking, cold calling, group/individual presentations and contract negotiation
- Works well independently and on a team
- Manages priorities and projects to ensure that qualified sales leads are converted into sales
- Strong project and budget management skills to ensure that client projects are implemented on time and within budget.
- Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel locally and out of town for business related sales and meetings.
