The question isn’t whether your company and supervisors have been AB 1825 compliant.  The question is whether your supervisors are receiving the sexual harassment prevention training that makes a difference.   This Professional Development Seminar provides the following information:

ü  Requirements to be recognized as a qualified trainer by the state of California.

ü  Required topics.

ü  New rules apply to trainers as of the summer of 2007.  More new rules will apply by 2010.

ü  Trainers must also be retrained every two years.

Under California Government Code 12950.1, all supervisors must be trained every two years.  The law is specific.  In this program you will learn what you need to know to train your supervisors and be in compliance with the law.

The first half includes new information for trainers:

  • Which employers are covered?
  • Who is a “Supervisor”?
  • When and How Often Must the Training Take Place?
  • What topics must be covered?
  • Who is a qualified trainer?
  • Should employers provide other forms of harassment prevention training?
  • Should employers provide training to non supervisory personnel?
  • How to structure your 2 hour presentation.

The second half includes training tips for trainers:

  • What are the effects of unlawful harassment at the workplace?
  • Are there laws regarding harassment?
  • What is the cost of harassment?
  • How do we prevent harassment?
  • Spot it and Stop it.
  • How the "Island" can help.
  • Understanding where people are coming from and why they might feel harassed.
  • After 20 years of law, why do people still harass?
  • How to conduct a Pre Training Exam .
